A shocking incident occurred in the government hospital of Mahbubabad district, Telangana, where a 45-year-old man was mistakenly declared dead and sent to the morgue, only to be discovered alive later. The health department announced on Thursday that an investigation into this incident is underway.
The man, who was initially thought to be deceased, revealed that he had come to the hospital seeking treatment for kidney issues but was denied admission. Working as a truck driver, he stated, “I arrived in Mahbubabad five days ago. I wanted to be admitted for my kidney problem, but the doctor refused treatment due to my lack of an Aadhaar card and the absence of an attendant with me. I had no money to return to my village, so I slept on the hospital premises for two days.”
He further claimed that a hospital staff member noticed him and laid him down on a bench in front of the morgue. Later, on Wednesday night, some unidentified individuals mistakenly took him inside the morgue, believing he was dead.
Upon receiving reports of an unidentified body in the morgue, police arrived at the scene and discovered that the man was, in fact, alive. He was promptly readmitted to the hospital.
The police have stated that no formal complaint has been filed regarding this incident. In response to the man's claim of being taken to the morgue while alive, a health official mentioned that he had not been examined by doctors. They confirmed that an investigation is currently in progress.
